An off-duty FDNY EMT’s jaw and eye socket were broken during a crazed caught-on-video attack over a parking spot in the Bronx, police said Sunday.
A fierce argument broke out over a spot on Chatterton Ave. near Olmstead Ave. in Unionport about 1 a.m. May 22nd, police said. As the quarrel escalated, the 22-year-old EMT was walloped repeatedly in the head while a woman tried helplessly to defend him.
Disturbing video shows the victim surrounded by an angry mob. One man gets in the EMT’s face, yelling at him before slugging him in the head.
The EMT falls to the ground. A woman is seen trying to shield him with her body but a second assailant reaches around her and lands another heavy blow.
The victim was eventually able to run away. Medics took him to Jacobi Medical Center with a broken jaw and eye socket, police said.
His two attackers ran off and have not been caught. Cops are asking the public’s help identifying them and tracking them down.
One attacker is described as in his 20s with a medium complexion long goatee and large build, weighing about 220 pounds. He was wearing gray sweatpants, a baseball cap, white T-shirt and black sneakers.
The second assailant is described as in his 20s with a medium complexion, large build, full beard and long dark hair. He was wearing a Puma T-shirt, Puma shorts and Puma sneakers.
