As this time of year rolls around, we all take time to think about what is important to us, and what we have received. It is a time of sharing, and caring. It is a time to be with our families and those who mean the most to us.
With this in mind, I wish you and yours a happy holiday. I hope these times find you with the ones you love, and with the ability to appreciate them. Every volunteer cares about others year round and I know this time is no different.
When a new year comes around, it is out with the old, in with the new. Some departments have much, while others have little. So when you do your cleaning, I am starting to collect items for other departments throughout the world.
Recently my department emptied out its excess equipment, and it was shipped to 6 departments across the US, and one in the Philippines. VolunteerFD.org has now reached over 7800 fire departments, and I hope that an ‘equipment drive’ will be successful.
Here are the details:
I am looking for usable fire and rescue equipment to be donated to other departments. I will handle the shipping, as best I can, and will handle all arrangements. Any equipment is understood to be in “As Is” condition, and I will require a ‘hold harmless’ letter from the receiving company. Equipment will not be sold, and will be given on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
If you have extra equipment, please email me at Jason@volunteerfd.org with a list of equipment, what its condition is, and how it can be picked up. Any questions can be sent to the above address, or I can be reached at 860.637.2389. For those departments in need of equipment, I will post the equipment as I receive it on the message board at VolunteerFD.org. (http://www.volunteerfd.org/phorum)
I wish you and yours a happy and joyous holiday season and new years.
Yours in Service,
Jason
