JULIAN, Calif. – A fire of suspicious origin that broke out Wednesday evening was declared contained Thursday morning after burning 25 acres in an pocket of dry timber that had been spared in the 2003 Cedar fire.
Two houses on Payson Drive were menaced by the flames at one point and their occupants were evacuated, but they have since been allowed to return to their homes.
The flames caused no injuries.
