AUSTRALIA - A white Christmas could all but extinguish fires that hit Victoria this month.
Thousands of the state’s volunteer and career firefighters were sent home to celebrate Christmas with their families today with numbers on the ground slashed to just 800 after a weekend of cool conditions and rain swept through the state.
