TASMINIA, Australia — Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old forestry worker killed when a tree fell on his vehicle as he helped fight fires in the state’s north-east.
The Scottsdale man was driving a Forestry Tasmania Landcruiser in the Fingal Valley while a co-worker hosed down ember fires from a pump on the back of the vehicle, when a large tree crashed onto the cabin about 9pm AEDT yesterday.
Trees continued to fall as emergency workers recovered the man’s body.
