LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Fire Department received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoring its service following the deadly Palisades Fire in January.
KGW 8 reported the recognition was inspired by an idea from 14-year-old Eniola Taiwo, who proposed a star for first responders in an eighth-grade English assignment.
“The men and women of your Los Angeles Fire Department are grateful to Eniola, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Hollywood Community Foundation and all the citizens of Los Angeles who put their trust in our skills and in our commitment to serve this great city,” the department said in a statement.
