YORBA LINDA, Calif. —A firefighting crew rescued a spooked horse who fell into a ditch.
Patch.com reported that Sam Rossum was riding her retired barrel racing horse, Dawn, when the horse became spooked and fell into a ditch, entangling herself in the brush, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.
“When the technical rescue team arrived, the horse was laying face-down in the ditch,” Capt. Kurtz said.
The firefighters cut brush around the horse and tied ropes to the bridle so they could pull the horse back onto the trail.
“We train our firefighters to rescue all residents of Orange County ... even the four-legged kind,” Capt. Kurtz said.
