Shortly after the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department pulled the dog from the pipe, she gave birth to two puppies

HOUSTON — A group of firefighters rescued a pregnant dog from a drainage pipe.

According to a Facebook post, the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call about a dog who had gotten stuck in the drainage pipe.

The crew was able to extricate her from the pipe without injuring her, and soon after she was free, she delivered two puppies.

The firefighters even went the extra mile by finding a foster home for the mother and her puppies.

“Please join us in saying ‘thank you’ to our volunteer firefighters who helped save this furry Cy-Fair citizen,” the department said on Facebook.
