NEW YORK — Sixteen FDNY firefighters are being treated for minor injuries after a massive apartment fire Wednesday.
PIX11 reported that flames could be seen shooting from the roof of the building, and more than 200 firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
Resident Melissa Dibbs credits Ladder 11 for rescuing her dog that was still inside the building.
“I showed the firefighters a picture of my dog, Finnegan, and they took my keys and went upstairs to the apartment to get him. When they came back down, I was so relieved and happy. I couldn’t stop saying thank you,” Dibbs said.
The fire is currently under investigation.
