CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was arrested for a fire at an apartment complex that displaced 130 residents and hospitalized seven people.

Charlotte Observer reported that Jesus Reyes Lopez, 20, faces charges of first-degree attempted murder and first-degree arson after allegedly setting the Woodscape apartment complex ablaze.

The fire, which caused $1.3 million in damage, was investigated and led the Charlotte Fire Department to believe it was a result of arson.

Police said the investigation is currently ongoing.
