Police said the ambulance was responding in emergency mode, with lights and sirens on, when it was struck by the tractor-trailer going through the intersection. The tractor-trailer was transporting fuel, but none was seen leaking from its container after the crash.

Medics treated seven victims on scene, who were then taken by ambulance to local hospitals, while two patients were flown to hospitals by state police. Police said at least three vehicles were involved in the crash. The Baltimore County Police Crash Team is investigating the incident.
