CHOCTAW, Ark. — A firefighter was injured Sunday after a tanker truck rolled over and crashed into a creek.

Choctaw Fire Chief Lamar Harvey told Arkansas Matters that a volunteer firefighter was responding to a house fire when he lost control of the rig, which rolled over multiple times before crashing.

The firefighter was transported to the hospital with minor cuts and bruises.

“I knew it was one of my trucks. I don’t want to say disturbing but that’s exactly what it was,” Harvey said.

Officials have not released the identity of the firefighter, but noted he’s been with the department for less than a year.

The department is in working to replace the tanker, worth roughly $160,000.
