Two female residents and two firefighters were injured Monday morning in a two-alarm fire at an apartment building on Pine Street, officials said.

The fire was knocked out by 6:42 a.m. — less than an hour after it was reported, said San Francisco Fire Department spokesman Ken Smith.

One resident was taken to the hospital with burn wounds, said Smith, who did not know the extent of her injuries. Another resident was treated for smoke inhalation.

Two firefighters also suffered injuries after apparently staying in the building too long, Smith said.
