WOODBRIDGE, N.J. — A fire engulfed a row of stores Wednesday morning, collapsing their roofs and walls as firefighters tamped down the blaze.
Investigators do not believe anyone was inside the businesses during the fire, which was first reported to officials at about 8:30 a.m., said Mayor Frank Pelzman.
An hour later, flames were shooting from the stores, which had partially collapsed. The fire was under control by about 11 a.m.
