A person was killed in a house fire late last night in Southampton, and firefighters from three departments were working to extinguish the blaze, police said.
Volunteers from the Southampton Village, North Sea and Sag Harbor fire departments responded to the blaze on Hillcrest Avenue at 9:33 p.m.
The fire was declared under control at 10:38 p.m., but firefighters remained at the scene working to extinguish it, officials said.
Southampton Village police and Suffolk County police arson detectives were investigating. No information about the victim was available last night.
