Calif. firefighters rescue woman trapped in hotel fire

The woman was transported to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation

LIVERMORE, Calif. — Firefighters have put out a fire in a Livermore hotel room Friday morning and rescued a woman who was briefly trapped in a bathroom there, a fire battalion chief said.

The fire was reported around 10:40 a.m. at the Studio Inn, located at 1321 Portola Ave. Crews also received several reports of a woman inside a bathroom in the hotel room where the fire broke out, Livermore-Pleasanton fire Battalion Chief Joe Testa said.

A man and woman at the hotel suffered smoke inhalation and minor injuries when they entered the burning hotel room in an attempt to save the woman, Testa said.
