NEWARK, N.J. — Police said a man and woman dressed as ninjas set multiple fires after breaking into an apartment inside a new building.
NBC New York reported that the suspects were covered from head to toe in black and casually walked through the Cherry Park apartments. They broke into an apartment on the second floor and set multiple fires before leaving through a side door, according to police.
Witnesses said they saw flames coming out of a window and the two “ninjas” walking away.
“The fire alarm went off and it was very loud,” witness Melissa Ditonto said. “Not everybody was running out, but we did.”
Police said no one was hurt thanks to the building’s state-of-the-art sprinkler system.
