WACO, Texas — Four Waco firefighters will be recognized Thursday morning for their efforts to save a family trapped inside a burning mobile home.

Lance Beatty, Michael Ball, Lex Hayes and David Sauer are slated to receive the Liberty Mutual Firemark Award for Heroism for their rescue attempts of three people trapped inside a Bosqueville- area home engulfed in flames Feb. 16, 2012.

When firefighters arrived at the scene of the blaze at 6312 N. 19th St., it already was engulfed in flames and neighbors already had begun rescue efforts. Firefighters broke out windows and tried to reach those inside, but the blaze was too hot, officials at the scene said. A young boy, then 2-year-old Kaiden Megginson, was pulled to safety and survived the fire.
