STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — A helicopter that was on its way to a fire made an emergency landing Tuesday after experiencing a “mechanical failure.”
Visalia Times Delta reported that the Cal Fire contracted helicopter was making its way to fires in Siskiyou County with two people on board when the failure occurred.
A Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection tweet said the helicopter tipped over after the emergency landing was made.
One person was transported to the hospital, and the other refused treatment.
The body of the helicopter was damaged, the blades were ripped off and windows were cracked in the landing.
