GREENSBORO, N.C. — Firefighters will be “sticking-it to cancer” with a hockey game benefit on Sunday.

The Professional Fire Fighters of Greensboro Local 947 Redliners, a Greensboro men’s hockey team comprised of local firefighters and sponsored by the PFFG Local 947, are holding a hockey game to benefit Morgan Nolen, eight year old son of Greensboro Fire Captain Spencer Nolen, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ganglion Neuroblastoma earlier this year.

“Firefighters pull together when difficult situations arise in our ranks,” said Captain Randy Woody, a Greensboro Fire Captain and the goalie for the PFFG Redliners. “The Redliners have done fundraisers in the past but this one really hits home and we hope the community turns out to support the Nolen family.”

The game will be held at 4:30pm at the Greensboro Ice House at 6119 Landmark Center Blvd. in Greensboro.

Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan will be participating in the puck drop to start the game.

Admission is free but the Redliners will be accepting donations on behalf of the Nolen family.

Donations can also be made online at the Family Support for Morgan Nolen GoFundMe page.
