OCEAN CITY, Md. — Investigators have concluded that a father and daughter lodging at the Days Inn at 23rd Street on Tuesday died of carbon monoxide poisoning, but two other family members have survived the incident, said Steve Price, Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company spokesman.
Kelly Boughter, 10, and her father, Patrick Boughter, 40, of Lebanon, Pa., were prounounced dead at the scene, Ocean City police spokesman Barry Neeb said today. They were staying on the ground level of the Days Inn building that fronts the Boardwalk. There are three buildings — the other two face Baltimore Avenue.
Officials have not yet identified Boughter’s wife and daughter, who were found alive in the room when emergency personnel arrived about 2 p.m. Tuesday. They were immediately transported to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. Price said today that both have been treated and released.
