Fla. firefighter dragged by hose after house fire

While helping a fire truck back up, the firefighter got tangled in hose, was dragged to the ground and then dragged by the moving rig

PLANT CITY, Fla. — A firefighter helping a fire truck back up was injured after becoming tangled in fire hose and dragged to the ground.

ABC Action News reported that the Hillsborough County firefighter, who was helping clean up after a house fire, yelled “stop” several times as the fire truck dragged him. The firefighter was conscious and alert after the incident, but was taken to a hospital for minor injuries to his legs.

There were no hydrants nearby the remote home. Firefighters used three tankers to transport water to the fire. The house was deemed a total loss after the fire. An elderly man owns the home, but was not there at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
