ROANOKE, Va. — A firefighter was hospitalized after he partially fell through a floor while battling house fire Thursday.
When Roanoke Fire and EMS crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames at a two-story house, according to Roanoke.com. After the firefighter fell, colleagues helped him escape the house. The firefighter was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The house, which was vacant, sustained extensive damage.
Officials later determined that the fire was intentionally set. The fire is under investigation.
