PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — A firefighter was injured while battling a massive house fire Wednesday.
Philly.com reported that the fire was reported in the three-story house at 2:30 a.m. The blaze started in the back of the multi-family home on the first floor. Four families lived there; two were home, including children, FOX29 reported. All residents got out of the home safely.
During the fire attack, two firefighters jumped from the second floor, landing on another; one firefighter suffered a minor ankle injury.
A fire hydrant issue also forced crews to use nearby hydrants down the street, according to the report.
The fire was contained; the upper floors collapsed from fire and water damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
