A grass fire gave West Bryan County firefighters a scare as dispatch was calling man down over the radio. The fire was burning off South Willow Springs Road. At last count two to three acres burned.
The man-down call was apparently a miscommunication. Only one firefighter arrived on scene and needed help fighting the blaze. When he called for back-up, dispatch thought he needed medical help. When back-up arrived, the firefighter was fine, but exhausted after fighting the blaze by himself.
