HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Another Georgia firefighter has died from COVID-19.

Hall County Fire Department fire apparatus operator Shaun Stringer died on Monday, according to a statement from the fire department.

Stringer, a 14-year member of the fire department, previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

A GoFundMe page to support Stringer’s family reads: “Shaun was an amazing person. … Shaun with his positive attitude and free spirit could put a smile on your face no matter the situation. With this passion for serving, Shaun selflessly exposed himself to the hazards of the job and contracted COVID-19.”

Stringer leaves behind three children, parents and many brothers and sisters.

The news follows the deaths of two other Georgia firefighters from the virus. Carroll County Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Tommy Hopson died last week after being hospitalized for several days with COVID-19. Barrow County Firefighter-EMT Tim Watson died recently as well.

The Hall County Fire Department released details of the funeral arrangements for Stringer:
