CLEVELAND — Cleveland firefighters and Crime Stoppers increased the reward amounts for information regarding the suspects involved in the murders of two firefighters.

NewsNet5 reported that fire officials said the rewards for information leading to an arrest for the murder of Lt. William Walker and firefighter Theodore Wright, Jr. have been increased to $12,000 each.

No motive has been linked to either crimes, and the two cases are not related, according to the report. There is also no video surveillance that would help find the murder suspects.

Cleveland fire officials have urged the community to come forward with information to help the families of the two firefighters gain some closure.

On Nov. 3, 2013, police found Lt. Walker, 45, a 15-year veteran, with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He had parked his vehicle in his driveway and began walking to his house when he was shot. EMS and fire responded and transported Walker to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

On May 1, 2014, firefighter Wright was off-duty when his pickup truck hit a telephone pole and flipped. He was partially ejected from the vehicle and was trapped inside when EMS arrived. Though he died at the scene, he was taken to the hospital.

The county medical examiner’s office said Wright, a 32-year veteran, was shot in the arm.
