NEW CARLISLE, Ind. — Monday, local authorities are speaking out about a costumed burglary in New Carlisle Sunday night.
Police say the man was impersonating a firefighter when he was arrested. This could either be a coincidence or a connection that links 25-year-old suspect Franklin Powell to that volunteer fire station burglary.
Police are still investigating and are encouraging Michiana to be vigilant. “It’s not every day that we get a situation where somebody tries to impersonate a public servant,” said Lt. Matthew Blank, St. Joseph County Police.
