LANSING, Mich. — Two firefighters suffered minor injuries when battling a blaze that gutted a two-story Genoa Township home Sunday night.
Chief Michael O’Brian of the Brighton Area Fire Department said Monday that the homeowner arrived home around 9:55 p.m. to find a large plume of smoke coming from his estimated 2,800-square-foot home in the 5100 block of Walnut Hills Drive, south of Brighton Road and west of Bauer Road.
“When the first crew arrived on scene, they found a well-advanced fire,” O’Brian said. “It was a pretty catastrophic loss,” he added, estimating damage at $500,000.
