LOS ANGELES — A group of firefighters rescued a homeless man by lifting a car off of him after he was hit by an alleged drunk driver.
ABC7 reported that the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a vehicle crashed onto a sidewalk, where a man and woman were sleeping. The woman was struck and the man was pinned down, according to police.
Seven firefighters and a bystander lifted the vehicle off of the man with their bare hands as two other firefighters pulled him out from underneath the car.
Police said the man suffered a collapsed lung and back injury, while the woman suffered minor injuries.
The driver was arrested for felony DUI involving narcotics, according to police.
