CHICAGO — A two-car accident in West Chicago Saturday night sent at least five people to the hospital, some with serious injuries, according to fire officials.

About 6:45 p.m. six ambulances were called to the scene of the accident at the intersection of Augusta Avenue and Gates Street, West Chicago Fire Lt. Jason Day said. One of the cars involved in the accident turned over on its side, and firefighters had to cut a few people from the wreck, Day said.

According to Day, five or six people were transported to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield and Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

The cause of the crash was unknown Saturday night.
