DES PLAINES, Ill. — A three-vehicle crash in Des Plaines Sunday afternoon sent eight people to four area hospitals, officials said.

Des Plaines Fire Captain Scott Peirson said around 4:45 p.m., his department received a call about an incident at Northwest Highway and Dempster.

A minivan, a SUV and a small sedan were involved in the crash.

Two of the vehicles had rolled over, Peirson said.

The driver of the minivan was trapped inside the car, and firefighters had to cut the individual out of the car.

The eight individuals all suffered minor to moderate injuries, and were transported to Advocate Lutheran General, Northwest Community, Resurrection and Glenbrook hospitals, Peirson said.

Along with Des Plaines, Glenview, North Maine, Park Ridge, Arlington Heights and Elk Grove Township fire departments assisted.
