LOS ANGELES — A firefighter completed a marathon in full turnout gear and carrying an American flag to raise funds and honor fallen colleagues.
Ventura County firefighter Rudy Marin completed the 26.2 run in about eight hours; he alternated between running and walking. He told KTLA the funds he raised will be donated to his department’s fallen firefighter memorial to honor and remember fallen colleagues.
“As long as I’m alive, I’m going to make sure they’re remembered,” Marin said.
