FORT BEND, Texas — Fort Bend ISD will dedicate a new school Sunday in honor of a Houston firefighters who died in a May 2013 motel fire.
Anne McCormick Sullivan Elementary is being named for the Dulles High School graduate who died when the roof of the Southwest Inn collapsed on her and three colleagues.
The elementary school, the 47th in Fort Bend ISD, has borne Sullivan’s name since it opened in August, but Sunday will be the schools’ dedication ceremony.
Cliff Gregory of Houston Fire Department Station 76 will give a tribute, while the Houston Fire Department’s Pipes and Drums and Sullivan Elementary students will preform.
Sullivan Elementary is located at 17828 Winding Waters Lane in Sugar Land. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2 pm.
