SCOTT CITY, Kan. — A Scott City man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a collision with a semi in Finney County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Colter J. Berry, 28, with the Scott City (Kan.) Fire Department, the man killed, was northbound on U.S. 83 about 10 miles south of the U.S. 83 and U.S. 50 junction in a 2012 Ford F-150.

At the same time, Clark T. Anderson, 56, Holdrege, Nebraska, was southbound on U.S. 83 in a 2010 Peterbuilt semi.

Anderson swerved to avoid a collision with another southbound vehicle that had slowed or stopped to turn. The semi entered the northbound lane and struck Berry’s pickup.

Anderson was taken to St. Catherine Hospital with injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, but Berry was.
