7 FDNY firefighters hurt battling house fire

Six were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and the seventh refused treatment; a civilian was seriously injured

NEW YORK — Seven firefighters were injured Sunday morning when flames tore through a home in the Bronx.

7Online reported that the fire started just before 6:30 a.m. and over 100 firefighters responded to the two alarm fire. Crews battled the flames for over an hour.

Six firefighters were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. A civilian suffered serious injuries in the blaze and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The seventh firefighter refused medical attention and didn’t need hospitalization, according to the report.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
