BOCA RATON, Fla. — Several South Florida firefighters came to their comrade’s aide by putting up Christmas lights on his home after he was accidentally run over by a fire truck last week.

Boca Raton Fire Rescue Captain Mike McBrien said he normally puts up Christmas lights during the Thanksgiving weekend for his family every year, but after being run over by a fire truck, his annual plans were put on hold. That was before his fellow firefighters decided to lend a hand and put the lights up for him and his family.

On Thanksgiving Day, McBrien was out on a call when a flu-like virus caused him to hit the pavement and leave him unconscious. The truck’s driver did not see him on the floor and ultimately ran over his leg.
