PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh firefighters responded to a three-alarm fire in an abandoned duplex in the 800 block of Concord Street in the Spring Hill neighborhood about 7:10 a.m. Saturday morning, according to 911 dispatchers.
The fire was extinguished about 8:40 a.m., a fire official said.
Two firefighters were injured and taken to UPMC Mercy to be checked, said a Pittsburgh fire department official. One firefighter had a neck and head injury and the other an arm injury, according to the department.
Fire officials do not know what caused the fire. The department’s fire investigator is still determining the cause and origin.
Both sides of the duplex were gutted. It is scheduled to be demolished Monday, according to the fire department.
