ROCK HILL, S.C. Two York County firefighters were injured while fighting a mobile home blaze Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The names of the firefighters have not been released, but Billy Weatherford, director of fire services for York County, said they work for the Bullock Creek and McConnells fire departments, both in western York County.

One firefighter was treated and released from Piedmont Medical Center Wednesday night, Weatherford said. Another was held overnight and was still in the hospital early Thursday.

The blaze was called in just after 5 p.m. at a home in the 6000 block of Lockhart Road south of Sharon, Weatherford said. The residents in the home made it out, but fire crews were on the scene until almost 10 p.m.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation, Weatherford said. Fire departments from Sharon, Bullock Creek, McConnells and Hickory Grove responded to the blaze, with assistance from Chester County and Piedmont EMS.
