SUGAR GROVE, Ohio — Authorities say an early morning trailer home fire in southeast Ohio has left four people dead and two others injured.
The Fairfield County sheriff says a toddler is among those who died early Tuesday. Two more people were taken to hospitals from the rural area outside the village of Sugar Grove, nearly 40 miles southeast of Columbus.
Sheriff Dave Phalen says firefighters are searching for a possible seventh person who might have been inside the trailer, which collapsed.
The sheriff’s office says the fire was first reported at 4:17 a.m.
Phalen says authorities are investigating a report of a possible explosion, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s office has investigators at the site.
The sheriff says firefighters from seven departments responded.
