FONTANA, Calif. — A firefighter was injured and a pallet yard was destroyed after a two-alarm fire erupted in Fontana late Thursday, officials said.
Firefighters responded to a pallet yard located in the 13700 block of Santa Ana Avenue after receiving a report of an explosion coming from the property around 10 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the Santa Bernardino County Fire Department.
When fire crews arrived, they found stacks of pallets — some of them 30-feet tall — fully engulfed in flames, according to the release. The blaze encompassed roughly four acres. The business was surrounded by about 30 tractor trailers, and one of them was burning close to a residence and spreading toward a neighboring business, the department said.
