CHICAGO — A Chicago firefighter was among six people who were injured Saturday morning in a fire on the Northwest Side in the city’s Logan Square neighborhood.
About 7:55 a.m., firefighters were alerted to a fire at a 2 1/2-story building at 2629 W. Homer St., according to Chicago Fire Department information.
The fire spread to two adjacent buildings, and at least five ambulances were deployed, officials said.
Five people were injured in the fire. Two people suffered burns, and were taken to Stroger Hospital. Two people suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to St. Mary Medical Center. A fifth person was being treated at Norwegian American Hospital, officials said.
A firefighter also was taken to St. Mary in fair-to-serious condition for an exhaustion-related injury, officials said.
