Chicago firefighter injured in house fire

The fire was contained to the home, and it was struck out within 30 minutes

CHICAGO — Three people, including a firefighter, were injured late Sunday in a Far South Side house fire in the Fernwood neighborhood, officials said.

The fire started about 11 p.m. in a home on LaSalle Street near 101st Street, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Two people were injured, and both were taken to Roseland Community Hospital, according to the Fire Department. A firefighter was taken to Mercy Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
