DETROIT — Five children and one firefighter have been injured during a house fire in northwest Detroit. The fire was reported about 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24.
According to the Associated Press, the children, ages 4 months to 4 years old, were taken to a hospital and suffered from smoke inhalation. Police said adults inside the home put the blaze out before firefighters arrived.
A firefighter suffered injuries while trying to enter the home. His condition was not considered life-threatening. Deputy Fire Commissioner Dave Fornell also did not release the condition of the children, according to AP.
The fire remains under investigation.
