NEWARK, N.J. — A firefighter and a resident were burned in an early-morning fire, an official said.
A firefighter suffered second-degree burns to the face and neck, and a resident caught in the flames at the Nichols Street house had first and second degree burns on their back, said Capt. John Brown of the Newark Fire Department.
Both were taken to Saint Barnabas Medical Center for treatment, and both sets of injuries were considered non-life threatening.
