PITTSBURGH — Firefighter Josh Helfmann said he was searching the house on 10th Street room-by-room when he saw Gypsy, a chocolate lab, in one of the bedrooms.
“The dog was tucked into a corner. She actually looked at me and kind of jumped into my arms, so I turned around and brought her out,” said firefighter Josh Helfmann. Firefighters also saved a cat from the flames. A second cat has not yet been found.
“We like to help our community and see good things come out of it. Unfortunately she lost her home, but we got her dog,” said Helfmann.
