MINNEAPOLIS — A firefighter suffered a minor injury and a family is without a home after a fire Sunday morning.
CBS Minnesota reported that crews were called to a home around 6 a.m. after a neighbor initially reported an explosion. When firefighters arrived, the garage of the home was fully engulfed and the fire was starting to spread to the house. About 60 firefighters from four of the five stations in town responded to the scene.
The firefighter was injured when the home’s floors gave way, but is expected to be OK, according to the report.
The family was able to get out of the home uninjured. Fire officials said the garage and most of the house was completely destroyed.
The house did not have a sprinkler system and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
