YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — A firefighter who was shot in the leg during a house fire call returned to duty this week.
Lt. Paul Lutton was shot in the leg December 2016 while he and other crew members were leaving the scene. Lt. Lutton was sitting in the fire truck when he was shot.
A bullet also grazed the turnout coat of firefighter Dwayne Montgomery, but he was not injured.
Cameron Dyer, 30, is facing charges regarding the incident, reported WKBN.
After the shooting, Fire Chief John O’Neill said the department would revisit the idea of battalion chiefs taking advantage of conceal carry while on fire scenes.
