ERIE, Pa. — A firefighter was injured at a blaze Sunday morning on Erie’s east side.
Firefighters found heavy fire showing from a multifamily residence when they arrived at 317 E. Sixth St. shortly after 3 a.m., an Erie County emergency dispatcher said.
One firefighter was taken by EmergyCare ambulance to UPMC Hamot for treatment of an ankle injury, emergency dispatchers said. No other injuries were reported.
The east side of the multistory building, which is on the south side of the street, was most heavily damaged and appeared to have been gutted by the fire.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by 4:09 a.m., the dispatcher said. The fire is under investigation.
