PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A mobile home fire in the early morning hours Thursday has claimed the life of a retires firefighter from Boston.
The charred shell is all that remains of what was once James Trezzi’s home. Dolores Healy was asleep when her boyfriend woke her and said somebody’s home must be on fire. “The flames went all the way up to the tops of the trees. So all the way back down there where we live, you could see the flames in the sky, and the smoke. And by the time we got down here, this whole place was just engulfed in flames,” recalled Healey as she pointed to the top of the tall pines that tower over the park.
The fire gutted Trezzi’s mobile home in the Oak Springs RV Park on Scenic Dr. in Port Richey. Inside, firefighters discovered a body they believe is that of 64-year old James Trezzi, a retired Boston firefighter and Vietnam veteran who was known as Jimmy.
